Islamabad, Feb 5 (IANS) Five people suspected to be involved in a grenade attack near a school in Pakistan’s Karachi city have been arrested, a media report said Thursday.
The attack was carried out Tuesday in the city’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, Geo News reported.
The suspects were arrested during raids carried out on the basis of information gathered through CCTV footage.
Sources said that all the five suspects were associated with a banned outfit.
The government had extended winter vacations in schools for security reasons following the Dec 16, 2014 Peshawar school terror attack in which more than 130 school children were killed.
The Sindh government had announced that only those schools should reopen where foolproof security arrangements have been ensured.
It also decided to implement a short-term security plan for all educational institutions in the city.
