Islamabad, Feb 14 (IANS) Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said the country attached great importance to its relations with Britain, which were based on mutual respect, interest and understanding.
At a meeting Friday with Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, a member of the House of Lords, the prime minister said frequent interaction between the leadership of the two countries has resulted in enhanced political, economic and cultural ties, Daily Times reported.
However, there was scope for further expansion of the relations, he added.
Sayeeda Warsi apprised the prime minister on matters relating to the Pakistani community in Britain, said a statement issued by the PM’s office.
She said that due to its hard work and dedication, the community has built bridges between the two countries while positively contributing towards improving Pakistan’s image abroad.
