New Delhi, March 2 (IANS) Rains on the second consecutive day Monday kept the temperature low and forced Delhiites to take out their woollens yet again. The Met department has predicted more rain Tuesday.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 14.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average, while the maximum was five notches below average at 22.1 degrees Celsius.
Delhiites Monday woke to a rainy and dark morning after overnight showers.
The rainfall recorded between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. was 4 mm.
“It was such a gloomy day,” said Rasheed, a resident of east Delhi.
An official of the India Meteorological Department said rain would occur till noon on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 22 and 13 degrees, respectively.
Sunday’s maximum temperature was 19 degrees Celsius, eight notches below the season’s average and the minimum settled at 15.2 degrees, three notches above average.
