New Delhi, April 3 (IANS) A day after a Lamborghini Murcielago crashed into a road divider near the India Gate in central Delhi, police were hunting for the driver who fled the crash site leaving behind the badly damaged car.
Delhi Police on Saturday said they were questioning owner of the sports car to identify its driver.
“We are questioning the owner of the car to identify the accused driver,” a police official told IANS.
The car crashed into a road divider at Copernicus Marg near the C- Hexagon near India Gate late Wednesday night after the driver lost control over the machine.
Police later found that the car was registered in the name of a real estate company which has an office in south Delhi’s Kotla Mubarakpur.
A team has been set up to investigate and identify the driver who crashed the car while police have taken custody of the mangled vehicle.
Police have registered a case at Tilak Marg police station in central Delhi under the Indian Penal Code sections related to rash driving and various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
