New Delhi, April 10 (IANS) The Indian Women’s Press Corps (IWPC) on Friday slammed union minister V.K. Singh for calling the media “presstitutes”.
Without naming Singh, the IWPC said “It is deeply shocked at the language used by a senior minister of the union government. Whatever may be the context and the grievance of the said union minister, it does not behove to direct such vituperative remarks at the media.”
“Given that a large number of women work in the media today, such remarks can only serve to compound the vulnerabilities they face as women and as media-persons,” it said in a statement issued here.
