Patna, April 22 (IANS) At least 32 people have been killed and around 100 injured in a storm that lashed Purnia, Madhepura and several other districts of Bihar late on Tuesday night.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a compensation of Rs.4 lakh each to the families of those killed in the powerful storm. He also said that he would be visiting all the affected districts personally to assess the destruction and loss caused by the storm.
Vyasji, principal secretary to state disaster management department Bihar, said that at east 25 people have been killed in Purnia, six in Madhepura and at least two have been killed in the Madhubani district.
Vyasji also said that storm has caused extensive damage to over thousands of buildings in Madhepura, Purnia, Saharsa, Katihar, Kishanganj, Darbhanga and Madhubani districts.
