Suzhou (China), May 3 (IANS) World No.1 Ma Long from China beat world No.14 and teammate Fang Bo 4-2 (11-7, 7-11, 11-4, 11-8, 11-13, 11-4) to win the men’s singles title at the world table tennis championships here on Sunday.
Fang, who stunned two-time defending champion Zhang Jike in the semi-finals, put up a tough fight as the 23-year-old pulled himself from 2-6 down to win the fifth set but lost composure in the sixth, reports Xinhua.
China’s Zhang and Fan Zhendong shared the third place.
