New York, May 4 (IANS) Members of Irish rock band U2, who were forced to postpone their residency on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” after frontman Bono had a cycling accident here, are going to visit host Jimmy Fallon and perform on Friday.
U2 was supposed to have a week-long residency on the late-night program back in November in support of their surprise album “Songs of Innocence”. They, however, decided to delay it as Bono needed to undergo a surgery to repair the arm he injured in the accident, reports aceshowbiz.com.
More than five months following the incident, his injured arm hasn’t fully healed. Earlier the 54-year-old musician revealed that he still couldn’t bend two of his fingers and subsequently couldn’t play the guitar.
“It feels like I have somebody else’s hand. I can’t bend these (fingers), and this is like rigor mortis,” he said.
Until now, U2 is the only “Tonight Show” guest having been announced for May 8.
