Shimla, May 5 (IANS) To cater to the tourist rush, low cost carrier SpiceJet on Tuesday announced it would start two additional flights between Delhi and Dharamsala, the abode of Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, and Delhi and Amritsar from May 15.
“With summer vacations approaching, we foresee excess demand for both Amritsar and Dharamsala sectors. The introduction of the new flights will only help us to fullfill the increasing demand,” company’s chief operating officer Sanjiv Kapoor said in a statement.
The additional flights will continue till June 30.
Both Amritsar and Dharamsala are among the top tourist destinations. While Amritsar in Punjab is known for the Golden Temple, which attracts more than 100,000 visitors on week days alone, Dharamsala is also known for its picturesque locations.
