New Delhi, May 9 (IANS) The Federation Indian Women Entrepreneurs (FIWE) in collaboration with the Indo-African-Arab Women Chamber of Commerce on Saturday hosted the 5th International Women Entrepreneurs Summit here on Saturday.
The summit aims at increasing global opportunities for women entrepreneurs across the world.
More than 100 nations, including from middle east and African region, participated in the summit and explored various business opportunities with India.
The participating countries, during the summit, focused on the “Make in India” campaign, which has been set the theme for the event this year.
“Working towards attracting investments from Arab countries through women entrepreneurs was discussed.The Summit witnessed a large number of delegations including from nations like Bahrain, Kuwait and Sudan,” Rajni Aggarwal, president of FIWE said.
Minister for small and medium enterprises (MSME) Kalraj Mishra was also present at the event.
The FIWE, on the occasion, also launched a new initiative FIWE – Latent Talent, an exhibition to showcase and provide a credible and comprehensive platform to enrich, encourage and empower innovative entrepreneurial as well as creative talent and bring them to the forefront.
Aggarwal said one of the key outcomes of the summit was the presentation on small and medium enterprises (SME) policies across 30-40 countries.
“This will provide fresh perspective on formulation of future national policies and progress towards development of women entrepreneurs in SME Sector,” she said.
Poonam Kumar, a senior official of FIWE said skill development and digitization to apprise women entrepreneurs with the latest technologies, innovations as well as government’s initiatives were the next focus areas of the forum to help women gain expertise and grow.
