Kolkata, May 18, (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday congratulated two city students who topped the ICSE and ISC examinations.
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) declared the Class 10 (ICSE) and Class 12 (ISC) 2015 results on Monday.
Arkya Chatterjee from Vivekananda Mission School, Kolkata topped the ISC exams with 99.75 percent marks while Sougata Chowdhury from St. Xavier’s Collegiate School, Kolkata, topped the ICSE with 99.2 percent marks.
“ICSE & ISC all India toppers both from Kolkata. Well done Arkya Chatterjee (St Xavier’s Kolkata) and Sougata Chowdhury (Vivekananda Mission),” Banerjee tweeted.
A total of 71,141 students appeared for the ISC examinations this year, out of which 38,659 (54.34 percent) were boys and 32,482 (45.66 percent) were girls. In ICSE, the pass percentage was 98.49 percent — up by 0.21 percent from last year, and 96.28 in ISC — up by 1.01 percent from last year.
