New Delhi, May 28 (IANS) It was a hot and dry Thursday in the national capital, with the maximum temperature recorded at 41.1 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season’s average. The Met office forecast similar conditions on Friday, with the sky likely to be clear through the day.
The maximum and the minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 41 degree and 27 degree celius.
“The temperature for another 3-4 days is likely to fluctuate between 40 and 41 degrees. Friday will also see a clear sky and hot day,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department(IMD).
The minimum temperature of the day settled at 26 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season’s average. The city also witnessed haze in the morning hours which the IMD official said was due to the dry weather and a light dust storm.
Keeping in mind the constant scorching heat in the city, Delhi’s health department has directed all hospitals (both government and private) to treat heat stroke patients as emergency patients.
The national capital saw two deaths Wednesday due to heat stroke.
The maximum temperature on Wednesday settled at 41.8 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season’s average, while the minimum temperature was 26.1 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season’s average.
