Chennai, June 1 (IANS) TVS Motor Company reported a sales growth of six percent in May 2015 with the sale of 2,20,079 units compared to 2,06,813 units sold in the same period a year ago, the company said on Monday.

In the two-wheeler division of the company, 2,10,843 units were sold in May 2015 clocking a growth rate of seven percent from May 2014, when 1,97,451 units were sold.
With 43,595 units sold in the export markets in the month under review, the company registered an export growth of 22 percent from May 2014. It had shipped out 35,649 units in that period.
Two-wheeler exports rose by 27 percent in May 2015 at 35,310 units compared to 27,780 units sold last May.
Domestic two-wheeler sales increased by three percent from 1,69,671 units in May 2014 to 1,75,533 units in May 2015, the release said.
There was a growth of 3,416 units in scooter sales for the period under review at 54,426 units clocking a rise of seven percent, the company said.
Motorcycle sales grew by eight percent in May 2015 with the sale of 91,344 units from 84,660 units sold in May 2014.
However, three-wheeler sales declined from 9,362 units in May 2014 to 9,236 units in May 2015, a slump of 126 units.
