Gurgaon, June 1 (IANS) A former soldier in Haryana was shot dead by another ex-serviceman, and the accused was later found dead on Monday on a railway track, police said.
Rajesh Kumar, 40, was gunned down on Sunday night by Jagdev Yadav, 41, who too was a retired soldier.
The incident took place in Sampka village here on Pataudi Road Sunday around 11 p.m.
On Monday, Yadav’s body was found on the railway track near Jatola, some two kilometres from his village Sampka.
Yadav visited Rajesh Kumar’s house on Sunday. Rajesh Kumar’s friend Vinod Kumar was also present.
“After an heated argument over some issue, Yadav shot twice at Rajesh from close range with his licensed revolver,” Assistant Commissioner of Police R. Kumar told IANS.
He said: “Vinod also received two gunshots and has been admitted to a hospital. We are waiting for Vinod’s statement to know what happened.
“Yadav might have committed suicide by jumping before a moving train,” the officer added.
Yadav and Rajesh Kumar worked as security guards with banks in Gurgaon and Delhi respectively.
