Kabul, June 2 (IANS) Police in the eastern Afghanistan province of Paktika shot dead two would-be suicide bombers, the country’s interior ministry said on Tuesday.
“Afghan National Police killed two suicide bombers who had attempted to storm a police check post at Ashpano Qala village near Sharana city, the capital of Paktika province last night (Monday),” Xinhua news agency cited the country’s interior ministry as saying in a statement released here.
No police personnel and civilians were harmed during the operation, the ministry said.
