Chandigarh, June 7 (IANS) Haryana will conduct a survey of all unauthorised colonies in the state for regularisation and providing them basic amenities, a government official said here on Sunday.
A survey will be carried out of all unauthorised colonies with more than 50 percent construction, as on March 31, for regularisation or declaration as development deficient, an official spokesperson told IANS.
He said the decision in this regard was taken by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
The government has also accepted making the basic necessities of water and power available in such colonies as the existential right of the people.
The availability of at least 10 feet arterial road is considered necessary for consideration for regularisation and declaration of a colony as development deficient, requiring basic developmental works, he said.
The official said the chief minster has also issued directions that electricity and water connections should be provided to all households, irrespective of the fact whether the dwelling was located in an authorised colony or not.
The government has also decided to issue water and electricity bills to such households in different colour and that an affidavit foregoing any claim regarding the ownership of such connection be obtained from them.
