London, June 24 (IANS) English Premier League (EPL) side Liverpool on Wednesday completed the signing of TSG Hoffenheim’s Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino, subject to a medical.

“#LFC are delighted to announce they have signed Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim, subject to a medical #FirminoLFC,” Liverpool wrote on Twitter.
It has been reported that both the parties have agreed to a 28 million pound deal.
The 23-year-old, who is on international duty at Copa America, will complete a medical after the conclusion of the tournament.
Firmino has scored 47 goals in 151 appearances during his four and a half years in Germany and has scored four times in nine international caps, including Sunday’s Copa América winner against Venezuela.
With last year’s signing Mario Balotelli from AC Milan failing to impress and fellow striker Raheem Sterling’s future in limbo, Firmino’s signing is being viewed as a positive step for the side coached by Brendan Rodgers.
Liverpool finished second in the 2013-14 season but dropped to fifth in the last season.
