New Delhi, June 25 (IANS) A cloudy day with light rainfall brought relief in the national capital on Thursday as the mercury plunged significantly to 30.8 degrees Celsius — seven notches below the season’s average. The Met office forecast similar weather on Friday.
“The skies will be cloudy on Friday. One or two spells of rainfall and thundershowers will occur in some areas,” said an official of the India Meteorological Department.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 35 and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Thursday’s minimum temperature was recorded six notches below the season’s average at 22.4 degrees Celsius.
The city received 0.3 mm of rainfall in nine hours from 8.30 a.m.
Wednesday’s maximum temperature was 36.8 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season’s average, while the minimum temperature settled two notches below the season’s average at 25.8 degrees Celsius.
