Chennai, July 7 (IANS) As a part of Singapore’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, budget airline Tigerair partnering with Singapore Tourism Board on Tuesday announced slashing fares by 50 percent.

This limited period offer can be availed of by the passengers flying to Singapore from five Indian cities, said a senior official of the airline.
“Passengers travelling from Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi and Trichy can avail this special offer from July 7, 2015, to July 15, 2015, (booking period),” Teh Yik Chuan, director-sales and marketing, told reporters here.
The applicable travel period is from August 4, 2015, to November 6, 2015.
All-in one-way fare from Chennai to Singapore begins at Rs.3,799 while, all-in return fare to Singapore and back will be Rs.7,999 during the offer period for bookings made on Tigerair’s website.
“Finding partners that complement what we do to benefit our customers, has been our constant endeavour. We are proud to partner with the Singapore Tourism Board to celebrate the 50th year of Singapore’s Independence,” he said.
According to Bridget Goh, area director, Singapore Tourism Board, the number of Indian visitors to Singapore during the first six months of 2015 has crossed half a million mark.
She said for the whole year, the number of Indian visitors to Singapore is expected to be higher than 943,000 visitors in 2014.
Goh said as part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, Singapore is also rolling out promotions and special experiences for overseas visitors like hotel stays – pay for two nights and have the third night free, shopping offers and 2015 is a better time to visit Singapore.
