New Delhi, Jan 23 (IANS) The Delhi government will roll out 3,000 additional buses by the end of this year, Transport Minister Gopal Rai said on Saturday.

Of these, 1,000 will be premium buses which will have Wi-Fi, bottled water, magazines and a more comfortable seating arrangement.
Commuters will not be allowed to board these buses once all the chairs are occupied. Pre-booking of ticket facility will also be there.
The minister said the ticket rates of these buses would be higher than that of normal DTC and Cluster buses.
“We will pass the order in the cabinet meeting next month. Global manufacturers of buses will be invited for the bidding,” Rai said.
“We are hopeful that these buses would be rolled out by October this year,” he added.
Delhi runs 4,700 Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses and 1,300 ‘Cluster buses’, on a public-private partnership basis.
