Bhubaneswar, Jan 24 (IANS) A high alert has been sounded across Odisha ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, Director General of Police (DGP) K.B. Singh said on Sunday.
Four-tier security arrangements have been put in place in the state capital for the celebrations, he added.
In view of a security threat information received from intelligence bureau and other security agencies, a high alert has been sounded across the state.
All district collectors and superintendents of police have been asked to stay alert during the Republic Day celebrations, Singh said after inspecting a full-dress rehearsal at the Mahatma Gandhi Marg here.
He said extra security measures have been taken for Maoist-affected districts of the state.
