New Delhi, Jan 28 (IANS) India said on Thursday that it sees the trial of the 2008 Mumbai terror masterminds in Pakistan as a test of Islamabad’s sincerity in fighting terrorism.

“We have said before that we see the Mumbai terror attack trial as a test of Pakistan’s sincerity in combating terrorism directed against India,” external affairs ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup told the media.
“The planning, training and financing of the Mumbai terrorist attacks were done in Pakistan where 99 percent of the evidence is,” he said.
“It is Pakistan’s responsibility to unearth and present the requisite evidence in the ongoing trial so that the perpetrators are brought to justice.”
Swarup’s remarks came after a Pakistani court rejected a petition by the Pakistani government seeking voice samples related to the 2008 terror attack in Mumbai that left 166 people dead.
