Sanaa, Feb 4 (IANS) At least 15 workers were killed and over 20 others wounded when a Saudi-led airstrikes struck their cement factory in Yemen’s northern province of Amran on Wednesday.

The airstrike hit the main gate of the factory while workers were queue near the factory’s gate to receive their monthly salary, Xinhua quoted officials and witnesses as saying on Wednesday.
“So far, 15 workers were killed after the airstrike hit the scene while more than 20 others were critically hurt and brought to the hospital,” a medic in Amran hospital told Xinhua.
The cement factory in rebel-held Amran province, about 60 km north of the capital Sanaa, has been targeted by a series of airstrikes and the factory had stopped operating.
Tribal sources and residents said nearly 40 villagers were killed or injured when three airstrikes hit the village of Al-Jubara tribe in Kutaf region on Wednesday.
Elsewhere on the outskirts of the capital Sanaa, tribesmen and local council officials said a family of nine members traveling on a car to flee the ongoing intensified ground battles in Nihm district were all killed in an airstrike Wednesday afternoon.
