Srinagar, April 12 (Inditop) A Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) militant was killed Sunday in an ongoing gun battle between separatist guerrillas and security personnel in south Kashmir, police said.
Security forces surrounded a house in Kundi Aglar village, about 40 km from here, following a tip-off about the presence of militants there, a police officer said.
“The militants, believed to be two in number, were asked to surrender. But they fired at the troops that had surrounded the house, which triggered a gunfight,” he said.
“One militant has been killed so far, but the operation is still going on,” the official added.
