New Delhi, Oct 6 (Inditop.com) Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi will campaign extensively for the Oct 13 assembly elections in Maharashtra.
According to party sources, the Gandhis will address a series of rallies for the party which is contesting in 174 of the 288 constituencies in alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
Among the places where they will hold their rallies are Nasik, Nanded, Buldhana, Jamner, Nagpur, Kolhapur, Panvel, Pune Cantonment, Shahada, Aurangabad, Kalamnuri, Amrawati district, Yavatmal and Chandrapur.
In the 2004 assembly elections, the Congress won 69 and the NCP 71 seats.
In the April-May Lok Sabha elections, the Congress won 17 and the NCP eight seats.
