Lucknow, Oct 14 (Inditop.com) Over 10,000 clerics and scholars from around the world are expected to meet at the Darul Uloom Deoband in a three-day Islamic conference commencing Nov 1.
Convened by Jamait-ul-Ulema-e-Hind chief Maulana Mehmood Madni, the meet is expected to discuss the challenges facing the Muslim community, including reservation for Muslims in government jobs in India and alleged framing of false cases against Muslim youth in terrorism-related incidents, a key aide of Madni said.
The conference is also expected to pass a resolution seeking ban on “unnatural sex” in the backdrop of the Delhi High Court’s nod to homosexuality.
The Palestine issue, as well as the US intervention in Afghanistan are also likely to figure at the meet, the aide said.
The meet is expected to discuss the recommendations of the Sachar Committee and the Ranganath Misra Commission on the state of Muslims in India as well as the report of the Liberhan Commission submitted 17 years after the demolition of Babri Masjid, he said.
