Kabul, Oct 15 (Inditop.com) Twenty-two Taliban militants were killed in fighting with the security forces in southern Afghanistan, the police said Thursday.

The incident took place in Zabul province Wednesday night where the Afghan and NATO-led security forces raided the militants’ positions, killing 22 rebels, said Abdul Rahman Sarjang, provincial police chief.

Fourteen insurgents were killed in the Nawbahar district, while eight others were killed in Arghandab district, he added.

There were no casualties on the troops’ side, Xinhua said, citing the official.
