New Delhi, Oct 15 (Inditop.com) The 34th National Games scheduled in Jharkhand from Nov 21 have been postponed because of the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
The decision to postpone the National Games was taken by the IOA in its executive council meeting Wednesday.
“After talks with union government we have decided to postpone the National Games till after the assembly elections in the state,” IOA president Suresh Kalmadi told reporters here Thursday.
The National Games, scheduled to be held from Nov 21 to Dec 5, were also postponed four times earlier due to lack of infrastructure.
“This time the postponement is not because of infrastructure. Top class infrastructure is coming up there. The election announcement is due any time so we had to postpone it. No new dates have been decided for the Games,” Kalmadi said.
