Chandigarh, Oct 26 (Inditop.com) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda Monday said the central government has given in-principle approval to the Kumharia site in Fatehabad district for setting up of a nuclear power project.

Addressing the media here a day after assuming charge as chief minister for the second time, Hooda said that a communication to this effect has been received from the chairman and managing director of Nuclear Power Corporation (NPC).

He said that the state government has also been informed that the NPC now wanted to move to the next stage for acquisition of land and pre-project activities.

“The Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited would be the nodal agency for this project on behalf of the state government,” Hooda said.
