New Delhi, Oct 27 (Inditop.com) Delhiites woke up to a chilly morning Tuesday, wrapping themselves in light shawls or sweat shirts. With the mercury plummeting three degrees below average, the met department has announced that winter has arrived in the capital.

“The minimum temperature recorded early Tuesday was 13.6 degrees Celsius which is a good three degrees below the average. This is the onset of winter in Delhi,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

While the forecast for the rest of day is clear skies, the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 32 degrees Celsius.

“Temperatures will fluctuate over the next few days, but we are expecting the mercury to drop even further from now on,” the official added.

Shivani Sharma, an office goer, said: “It has been a little chilly in the evenings for the past few days but this morning it was actually cold and I had to pull out my shawl before stepping out to work.

“I love the winters of Delhi so I am looking forward to the chilly days,” she said.
