Mumbai, Oct 29 (Inditop.com) A key Indian equity index shut shop 1.5 percent down Thursday, the fourth consecutive loss-making day.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened lower at 16,191.39 points, ended at 16,042.1 points (provisional), 1.5 percent or 241.39 points lower than its previous close at 16,283.49 points.
Around the same time, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also in the red at 4,749.7 points, down 1.58 percent or 76.45 points from its last close.
Broader market indices were in the negative as well, with the BSE midcap index 2.09 percent down, while the BSE smallcap index ended 1.35 percent lower.
