Mumbai, April 16 (Inditop) Indian equities markets shut shop in the red Thursday, with a key index ending trade more than 300 points below its last closing figure and falling below the 11,000-mark.
The 30-scrip Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensitive index (Sensex), which opened at 11,358.06 points, fell 337.33 points or 2.99 percent to close at 10,947.4 points.
Similarly, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) lost 3.61 percent from the previous close to end trade at 3,358.5 points.
The BSE midcap index lost 4.53 percent, while the BSE smallcap index was down 4.72 percent.
