Lucknow, April 17(Inditop) Five people were killed and four injured when an ambulance they were travelling in was hit by a bus in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district early Friday, police said.
The victims, all belonging to the same family, were going to the district hospital to donate blood to a relative when the accident took place at about 5 a.m. near Agwanpur crossing in Moradabad, about 350 km form here.
“There were nine people in the ambulance. Five, including the driver, died on the spot and the four injured were rushed to the district hospital,” said D.S. Sirohi, Civil Lines police station inspector.
The bus driver ran away from the spot, leaving the vehicle behind.
“None of the bus passengers were injured. We are trying to nab the driver,” Sirohi added.
