Agartala, Nov 12 (Inditop.com) The railway authorities are about to be bombarded with 5,000 postcards urging better train services in Tripura, courtesy the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI).
“Over 5,000 young men and women from across Tripura will soon send letters in postcards to Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) general manager demanding upgradation of railway services between Tripura and rest of the country,” said DYFI state president Tapas Datta.
“The postcards would be dropped in the post boxes at an identical time on Nov 20, the 64th foundation day of World Federation of Democratic Youth,” Datta told reporters. DYFI is the youth wing of the state’s ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M).
DYFI’s demands also include completion of broad gauge conversion works between Assam and Tripura and extension of the railway line up to Sabroom, the southernmost bordering town of the northeastern state.
