Mumbai, Nov 13 (Inditop.com) A key index of the Indian equities markets opened on a quiet note Friday and was ruling 0.23 percent higher than its previous close.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened higher at 16,693.15 points and, about five minutes after the opening bell, was at 16,733.79 points, 0.23 percent or 37.76 points above its previous close at 16,696.03 points.

Around the same time, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading higher at 4,965.45 points, up 0.26 percent from its last close.

Broader market indices were trading flat as well with the BSE midcap index 0.29 percent higher and the BSE small cap index 0.32 percent up.
