Ghaziabad, Nov 14 (Inditop.com) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has stopped direct recruitment of constables and will acquire its constabulary from the state police forces and paramilitary forces in order to make the agency a heterogeneous body, CBI director Ashwani Kumar said Saturday.
“The CBI has stopped recruiting constables and will acquire its constabulary from the state police forces and paramilitary forces including CRPF, CISF and ITBP. It would make the CBI a heterogeneous body comprising of cadets from different states,” Kumar said.
The CBI director who was in Ghaziabad — adjacent to the national capital — to attend a ceremony at the CBI Academy also spoke of plans to introduce a time bound promotion programme.
The director said that a proposal was being prepared according to which at least four promotions would be given to the CBI cadres recruited directly. The gap in each promotion would be eight to 10 years. Citing an example the director said that if a sub inspector is recruited and works well, he should be retire as a deputy inspector general (DIG).
