Kolkata, Nov 25 (Inditop.com) Despite the slowdown in the manufacturing sector, all 28 self-sponsored students of the Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta (IIM-C)’s post-graduate programme for executives from that sector have landed campus placements.

These students had enrolled for the second Post Graduate Programme for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX-VLM).

The highest annual package offered was Rs.18 lakh, the average being Rs.11.37 lakh.

“Out of the 32 students, four are sponsored candidates already attached with some organisations. The rest 28 candidates got good placements,” PGPEX-VLM chairman M.N. Pal told IANS.

The four sponsored students are attached to TRF Ltd, Steel Authority of India Ltd, Bokaro Steel Plant and Maruti Suzuki.

Among the companies that recruited the self-sponsored students included Cummins, Hewlett-Packard, JSW Steel, TVS Motor, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ashok Leyland and Vedanta.

“Out of 29 offers, two were international offers, five were in consulting firms and the rest are mixed bag offers,” said an IIM-C statement.
