Agartala, Dec 9 (Inditop.com) A high level delegation from Vietnam will reach Tripura Friday to study the socio-economic development in the northeastern state, officials said here Wednesday.
A senior official said the nine-member Vietnamese delegation led by their Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong would visit Tripura from Friday to Sunday.
“During the visit, Vietnamese leaders would learn about the functioning of the politically important Tripura Tribal Autonomous District Council (TTADC), which provides tribals’ constitutional rights to develop their socio-economic position,” the official told reporters.
The Vietnamese delegation, which comprises senior leaders of Vietnam Communist Party (VCP), would go to several tribal dominated and interior areas of west and south Tripura.
“The Vietnamese leaders and Left Front government ministers led by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar would also share their experience about the strategies, plans and programmes for the all round development of poor people, tribals and minorities,” the official added.
“The leaders of the Vietnam government would also examine how to effectively run the workers’ cooperative controlled tea gardens, educational institutions and forest areas. They also share experience and practice with the Tripura assembly legislators.”
