Mohali (Punjab), Dec 11 (Inditop.com) India fast bowler Shanthakumaran Sreesanth and middle-order batsman Rohit Sharma were Friday ruled out of the second Twenty20 International against Sri Lanka to be held here Saturday.

Sreesanth, who missed the first Twenty20 in Nagpur, is still down with stomach infection while Sharma, who sustained a shoulder injury in Nagpur, is still not fit. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been called as a back up.

“Sreesanth and Rohit will not play the match. Sreesanth has not recovered from viral infection while Rohit has hurt his shoulder while diving in the last match in Nagpur,” said captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Sharma, however, went through all the drills during the practice session at Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium, but Dhoni said the team management didn’t want to take a chance with him.

Dhoni said that the final decision on team composition will be taken in the morning.

“We will decide on the playing eleven tomorrow. We will have another look at the conditions,” he said.

India lost the first match in Nagpur by 29 runs.
