Bhubaneswar, Jan 21 (Inditop.com) The prevailing cold wave continued to disrupt life in parts of Orissa Thursday with some places recording minimum temperatures between six and nine degrees Celsius.

Phulbani town in Kandhamal district, about 200 km from here, recorded 6.6 degrees Celsius – the day’s lowest in the state, an official of the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre told Inditop.

The other places where low temperatures were recorded include Bhabanipatna (7 degrees Celsius), Koraput (8 degrees), Sundergarh (8.4 degrees), Jharsuguda (9) and Bolangir (9.5), he said.

The temperature has dipped from Wednesday’s 15.2 degrees Celsius to 12.9 degrees in state capital Bhubaneswar and Wednesday’s 15.8 degrees to 13.6 degrees Celsius in the adjoining city of Cuttack, he said.

The cold wave condition would occur over some parts of interior Orissa during the next 24 hours, the official added.

Phulbani recorded a minimum temperature of eight degrees Celsius Tuesday and 6.4 degrees Celsius Wednesday.
