New Delhi, Jan 26 (Inditop.com) Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) chief executive officer Mike Hooper has apologised for the CGF website putting up a distorted map of India.

In the Indian map displayed on GGF website the northern areas of Jammu and Kashmir – Chilas, Gilgit and Skardu – were shown as part of Pakistan. The Gilgit-Baltistan region is part of a disputed territory between India and Pakistan.

Similarly, the CGF map also showed some parts of western Gujarat’s Kutch region as belonging to Pakistan.

The distorted map has now been replaced.

“We apologise for it. It was not intentional and we have rectified the matter immediately,” said Hooper.
