Srinagar, Jan 28 (Inditop.com) North Kashmir’s Gulmarg tourist resort received snowfall Thursday morning, even as the weatherman predicted rain and snow in many parts of the Kashmir Valley.

“The minimum temperature in Srinagar was 1.5 degrees Celsius today (Thursday). It was minus 10.4 degrees in Leh and minus 6 degrees in Kargil,” said an official of the weather office here.

Snowfall started early morning at Gulmarg while it rained in Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

“We expect rain and snowfall at many places in the Kashmir Valley during the next 24 hours,” the weather office said.

People living in areas above 3,000 metres like Karnah, Gurez, Tangdhar, Machil, Keran and other places have been asked by the local disaster management cell to move about with caution because of the possibility of avalanches there.
