Mumbai, Feb 2 (Inditop.com) Two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto Tuesday reported a 189.2 percent increase in net profit to Rs.475.14 crore for the quarter ended Dec 31 against Rs.164.27 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
The company’s total income increased to Rs.3,330.68 crore during the quarter under review, compared to Rs.2,140.98 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a regulatory statement.
The total vehicle sales during October-December stood at 493,748 units, a rise of 64 percent compared to the previous period.
Bajaj sold 417,111 two-wheelers in the third quarter, a rise of 71 percent from the previous period, while three-wheeler sales grew 25 percent to 76,637 units.
Exports, too, saw a handsome growth, at 215,233, an increase of 27 percent.
The company’s flagship brand Pulsar clocked about 50,000 units a month.
Margins during the quarter came under pressure as raw material costs rose, but were mitigated by the higher sales volume, said the statement.
