New Delhi, Feb 2 (Inditop.com) A city court Tuesday granted bail to Romesh Sharma, an alleged frontman of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. He is facing trial with extradited gangster Abu Salem in an extortion case here.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kiran Bansal granted bail to Sharma and asked him to furnish a personal and surety bond of Rs.15,000 each.
Sharma, against whom the recording of evidence of witnesses has concluded, is accused of providing details of Delhi-based businessmen to Salem, who in turn used to make threat calls to them and demand protection money.
The court, which had recently framed charges against Salem who was extradited from Portugal in 2005, said the trial against the accused duo be separated as the judicial proceedings against them are at different junctures.
