New Delhi, Feb 23 (Inditop.com) Opposition parties Tuesday gave notices for adjournment to the Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar after the government refused demands to hold a discussion on the price rise by suspending question hour.
“The government is not ready to suspend question hour and discuss the issue of price rise. They are ready for a short duration discussion but we gave notice for adjournment motion,” Basudeb Acharia, Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader in the Lok Sabha, told Inditop.
Leaders of other opposition parties in the house also gave notice on the issue.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had Monday made it clear it would stall proceedings in the Lok Sabha Tuesday if the government did not agree to its adjournment motion on price rise.
