New Delhi, April 15 (Inditop.com) Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi Thursday described the Indian Premier League as “glorified gambling” and said he did not consider it to be a sport.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Know India programme for visiting diaspora students of his ministry, Ravi told Inditop: “IPL is glorified gambling and I do not like it. I don’t consider it to be a sport. It is not One Day International (ODI) or test cricket. This is for the elite group who cry when the fuel prices go up but spend lavishly on IPL”
When asked about Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor’s alleged role he said: “I cannot comment on that. It is his personal interest.”
