Karachi, April 20 (Inditop.com) Former Pakistan Test fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz Tuesday filed a defamation suit against Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt.
Sarfraz, a vocal critic of the PCB, was miffed at Butt’s claim in a television interview that Sarfraz has demanded a huge fee from the PCB to give tips to young fast bowlers at a coaching camp.
“The PCB chairman accused me of asking for Rs.2.9 million for a coaching role in the training camp,” said Sarfraz. “It is totally false and is just an effort to tarnish my image. I have filed a case in additional district and sessions court, Islamabad,” said Sarfraz.
Sarfraz is seeking Rs.100 million in damages from Butt as compensation for defamation.
“The court has summoned Ijaz Butt on May 6,” said Sarfraz.
