New Delhi, April 28 (Inditop.com) With their sights set on the fast growing Indian outbound traveller market, four European countries – Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia – plan to invest a large sum here to promote themselves as tourist destinations.
Besides India, these countries — known as Visegrad countries or the European Quartet — have their focus on Brazil this year.
“Until now, Visegrad Cooperation has successfully promoted the region of central Europe in China, Russia, the US and Japan. Since the onset of the cooperation, it has noticed double-digit growth from China and Russia, and significant interest from travellers coming from the US and Japan,” a statement said Wednesday.
“In the current year 2010, the Visegrad Cooperation plans to invest approximately 328,500 Euros (Rs.1.93 crore) for the joint promotion of Visegrad countries with a key focus on India and Brazil,” it added.
As part of their marketing strategy, Visegrad has initiated a campaign in five cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore.
The Visegrad Cooperation came into existence in 2003.
