Bangalore: Power and automation technology group Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) India has bagged an order worth Rs.128.3 crore from Power Grid Corp for setting up a 400 KV gas insulated switchgear sub-station at Navsari in south Gujarat.
When installed and commissioned in 2011, the sub-station will strengthen the power transmission network in the western grid, the company said in a statement Tuesday.
“Gas insulated switchgear offers a compact footprint which makes it flexible and ideal for densely populated and urban areas, where space is at a premium,” ABB managing director Biplab Majumder said.
