Kolkata, April 30 (IANS) Air India cancelled 14 flights from Kolkata and combined some flights in a rescheduled roster Saturday as the strike by almost half of the state-run airline’s 1,600 pilots entered its fourth day.

‘On a normal day, we operate on an average 21 flights from Kolkata. But due to the limited resources now, we have drawn up a rescheduled roster of seven flights. Three have already been operated and remaining four will be operated later in the day,’ an Air India spokesman told IANS.

A flight each to Port Blair, Silchar and Shilliong had been operated from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport here, he said. A flight each to New Delhi, Bagdogra, Agartala and Dibrugarh will be operated later in the day.

He said multiple flights to important destinations like Delhi have been combined into one and all passengers in that sector would be booked on that flight.

Members of the Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA), once on the rolls of the erstwhile Indian Airlines, struck work midnight Tuesday, demanding parity in pay with their counterparts in Air India and other issues related to work conditions.
